Midwest Powers Series Announces 2020 Schedule

Midwest Powers Series Announces 2020 Schedule

Work over the past several months has taken place and the 2020 Midwest Power Series schedule is ready for release. The 2020 edition currently has 17 races with potentially a couple of other tracks that could be added. Last season the series was able to complete 13 of a scheduled 16 races, as the weather was a bit uncooperative in the early stages of the season last spring. Hopefully the 2020 racing season will see favorable weather.

The 2020 season kicks off with a double header Friday night May 22 at the Jackson Motorplex and Saturday night May 23 at the Knoxville Raceway. Clean Sweep and/or other bonuses for the opening weekend will be announced. Following a weekend off, we return for another double header weekend this time at Jackson on Friday night June 5 and partnering up with the MSTS 360 Sprints the following night at the I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD. Another big double header weekend follows with the 19th Annual Billy Anderson Memorial slated for Friday night June 12 at the Princeton Speedway and the next night will see the 9th Annual Davey Tabor Memorial take place just a short drive away at the Ogilvie Raceway. Both the Princeton and Ogilvie shows will also feature the UMSS Traditional and Winged sprint car divisions, making it three divisions of sprint cars in action each night at two distinctly different size tracks.

It is back to Jackson for a Friday night June 19 show before taking the following weekend off for the big three-day World of Outlaws Jackson Nationals event. Speaking of the World of Outlaws sprint cars, they make two appearances on July 2-3 at the Cedar Lake Speedway, and the Midwest Power Series 360 sprint cars will join in on the Friday night program. Following another off weekend, the series returns to action for two more double header weekends. The second round of the popular Jackson-Knoxville weekend is slated for July 17-18 and then on July 24-25 is the second round of the Jackson and I-90 Speedway weekend when we once again team up at both tracks with the MSTS 360 Sprints.

Late July and early August see the typical break in the schedule for some big racing events at Knoxville. The Midwest Power Series returns to Jackson on Friday night August 21. We are working on booking a show the following night August 22, hoping to partner up again with the MSTS 360 Sprints. More details will follow. Up next is the big three-day Labor Day Weekend Jackson 360 Nationals which last year featured some outstanding racing action over the course of three nights. The 2020 schedule concludes at the Cedar Lake Speedway with the running of the 20th Annual Jerry Richert, Sr. Memorial which also has the IRA 410 Outlaw Sprints and the UMSS Traditional Sprints on the program.
